How to talk with children about starting therapy

Some things that you may hear me say...
We all want our children to be as happy and independent as they can be.
We are raising adults- from the moment your children are capable, allow them opportunities to be independent. This not only encourages them to learn life skills, it also helps to build a positive self image and self esteem.
Responsibilities are good for your children; allow them to choose what chore they do and encourage success.
Teach your child to appreciate, not feel entitled to everything they obtain in life.
Books to Read
Boy without Instructions-A validating book on raising a child with ADHD, great read!
Adults
Live for today, plan for tomorrow-each day we should find one thing that we enjoy and do it. It could be as small as reading a book while drinking a cup of coffee, but find that thing that makes you happy.
